  4. The Georgetown-Howard Universities Center for Clinical and Translational Science, or “GHUCCTS” is a multi-institutional consortium of medical research institutions forged from a desire to promote clinical research and translational science. The members of the GHUCCTS consortium are: Georgetown University (GU), Howard University (HU), MedStar Health Research Institute (MHRI), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), and the Washington Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). The Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) is the nationally recognized accrediting authority for medical education programs leading to the M.D. degree in U.S. and Canadian medical schools. The Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Assessment (CETLA) based on the campus of Howard University at the I-lab, is dedicated to developing faculty who will produce distinguished and compassionate leaders to serve the nation and the global community. Through faculty training, instructional technology, interdisciplinary collaboration, classroom assessment, and educational research, CETLA strives to ensure that students gain a quality educational experience. The Howard University Health Sciences Clinical Skills Center is a 5,000 square foot state-of the art learning space based in the College of Medicine.  The technology within the center is a web-based digital solution that captures and stores both video and data during encounters.  The system allows the flexibility to observe and provide feedback to learners in real-time and post time and allows self-assessment of learner skills. Howard University Health Sciences Simulation Center is a state-of-the-art learning environment specifically designed by a multidisciplinary team to support health sciences professional education in our Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Health.   7. Louis Stokes Health Sciences Library situated next to the hospital is part of an extensive library consortium that houses journals, books, e-books, numerous databases and research resources. There are two designated librarians to assist the college of medicine faculty:  Dr. Fatima Barnes EDD, MPH, MSIS (Executive Director and liaison to the College of Medicine) and Young-Joo Lee, MSLIS (clinical librarian and liaison to Howard University Hospital). http://hsl.howard.edu
