Application Process

Interested applicants may apply through the San Francisco Match.

Ophthalmology is an early matching program, prior to the traditional NRMP match. All applications are reviewed by a panel of faculty who pay special attention to the applicant’s overall academic record, personal statement, and letters of recommendation. From the pool of applicants, approximately 30-45 applicants are offered an interview. We traditionally offer two interview dates for applicants to choose from. Under-represented minorities in ophthalmology are encouraged to apply.  For the 2020 application cycle all interviews will be administered virtually.
