Rotations
VA Rotation:
The VA hospital in Washington DC provides a broad experience in gastroenterology and hepatology including but not limited to
- Chronic liver diseases including alcoholic liver disease, viral hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma.
- Outpatient consultative as well as procedural experiences and attending educational conferences
- Opportunity to interact with GI fellows from other city programs rotating at the VA.
Sibley Memorial Hospital Rotation:
- Sibley Memorial Hospital provides our trainees with additional exposure to patients with a wide range of diseases that affect the liver and hepatobiliary systems.
- GI Fellows receive education and training with respect to the natural history of liver disease, hepatic physiology, diagnosis and management of acute and chronic liver disease, surgical treatment options for liver disorders and on the management of patient's pre and post liver transplantation.
John’s Hopkins Rotation: Liver Transplant Rotation
- John Hopkins Hospital provides our trainees with additional exposure to patients with a wide range of diseases that affect the liver and hepatobiliary systems.
- GI Fellows receive education and training with respect to the natural history of liver disease, hepatic physiology, diagnosis and management of acute and chronic liver disease, surgical treatment options for liver disorders and on the management of patient's immediate pre and post liver transplantation.
Kaiser Permanente- Mid Atlantic Region Rotation:
- This an ambulatory experience equally divided between outpatient consults and procedures.
- All activities are supervised by qualified attending physicians.
- The fellows benefit from out-patient community Center and disease spectrum of this population.
- Special benefits also in the Systems Based Practice experiences
PGY (Rotation Year)
Fellows attend Weekly GI conference, M&M, Grand rounds, Monthly Pathology and Radiology Conferences and Quarterly QI conference
Fellows Rotate in our Hospital and affiliated institutions at different stages of their training including but not limited to the followings: -
