Howard University Department of Psychiatry Residency Program’s mission includes the education of students and residents who are from and seek to serve many diverse groups. Our residents belong to various cultures. Washington, DC is a culturally diverse city and our program takes advantage of all the diversity this city has to offer, through visits and off-campus site visits. We have also developed a curriculum that emphasizes the importance of understanding race, bias, and culture in psychiatry
